What to expect
SkinPen’s microneedles pierce the skin creating microscopic holes referred to as micro-channels which stimulate the skin, kicking the body’s natural healing process into high gear. The skin triggers the immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow. As a result the wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels which are comprised of rich collagen and elastin proteins. These proteins are what helps to improve the appearance of the skin. We always bring our patients into the clinic to numb the treatment area first, followed by their 30-minute treatment. Patients can expect to see their results from one week after treatment.
Discomfort Level:
Prior to treatment we apply a local anaesthetic cream to ensure patient comfort.
Recommended treatment plan
We would usually recommend a course of 4 to 6 sessions, each one a month apart for optimal results and once completed, results can be seen for 9 – 12 months.
