What To Expect
- We always bring our patients into the clinic to numb the treatment area first, followed by their 30-minute treatment
- SkinPen’s microneedles pierce the skin, creating microscopic holes referred to as micro-channels, which stimulate the skin, kicking the body’s natural healing process into high gear
- The skin triggers the immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow
- As a result the wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels which are comprised of rich collagen and elastin proteins
- These proteins are what helps to improve the appearance of the skin
- Patients can expect to see their results from one week after treatment
Discomfort Level
Prior to treatment we apply a local anaesthetic cream to ensure patient comfort.
Recommended Treatment Plan
We would usually recommend a course of 4 to 6 sessions, each one a month apart for optimal results and once completed, results can be seen for 9 – 12 months.

- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Cold sores, acne and other active skin infections
- Skin conditions in the treatment area such as eczema and psoriasis
- Exposure to the sun: You should not proceed with this treatment if you are going to the sun in the next 4 weeks
