Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections are neuromodulator injections that reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily relaxing facial muscles. Facial lines will subsequently soften or simply disappear following the treatment. What can you expect during treatment?
During the initial consultation, you and your doctor will discuss your concerns, goals and expectations. The treatment itself is quick and painless. The anti-wrinkle neurotoxin is injected using a very fine needle into the belly of the muscle. The effect of the anti-wrinkle injection takes about 4-5 days to become noticeable and 10 days to see the final result. You can carry out your normal activities, however we recommend that you avoid massaging the area and not to lie down for four hours immediately following anti-wrinkle treatment. We also recommend that you do not have a facial or massage for 2-3 days to prevent migration of the product to other areas. Avoid heavy exercise or anything that is too hot i.e. hot showers, sauna, and sun exposure for 24-48 hours.

The effects of the wrinkle relaxing injection usually last three months, at which time another anti-wrinkle injection is required. After several treatments, the effects may begin to last longer, sometimes up to four to six months.
