Laser Genesis
Laser Genesis™ is a non-invasive laser light treatment designed to target fine lines, acne scars, rosacea, large pores, and uneven skin tone on both men and women. Practitioners often suggest this therapy to diminish recent scaring on other parts of the body also.
What concerns does it treat
As we age, both collagen and elastin in the skin degrade. It is these two proteins, collagen and elastin that give skin its strength, firmness and elasticity which, once reduced, contribute to signs of aging. Laser Genesis works by gently heating the upper dermis which is located well below your skin’s surface where both collagen and elastin are produced. The impact of this simulates the body’s natural healing process, boosting both elastin and collagen growth, responsible for increasing cell turnover, improving the appearance of wrinkles, fading scars and shrinking pore sizes. In addition to this, the heat generated in dilated capillaries helps to reduce facial redness, including that caused by Rosacea by causing blood trapped below the surface to dissipate.
It can be performed on any skin type. Ideal candidates include patients with rosacea, acne, fine lines, large pores, and textural irregularities. It’s suitable for all skin types and even safe on tanned skin. Unlike some other laser treatments, patients can have this treatment all year round.
What to expect
A comfortable 45 minute treatment that begins with a gentle cleanse of the skin followed by the treatment which creates a warming of the skin. Soothing serums and SPF will be applied before departure. Patients may depart pink but most leave us with a great glow immediately following their Laser genesis.
Discomfort Level:
Throughout the treatment, patients can expect to experience a gentle warming of the skin’s surface but no pain relief is required for this treatment.
Recommended treatment plan
The number of treatments needed will depend on the individuals goals however normally over the course of four to six treatments, Laser Genesis can help restore the skin’s youthful glow and appearance. Whilst the individual treatment results are subtle, the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.
