AviClear
AviClear is Irelands first laser treatment for treating Acne. It works from the inside out as the laser targets and supresses the sebaceous gland. The overproduction of sebum by the sebaceous glands is one of the leading causes of acne so by supressing this, we are treating acne at the root of the problem.
What concerns does it treat
AviClear has been proven safe for all skin types and tones and is effective for treating mild, moderate, and severe inflammatory acne. It offers a non-invasive solution to patients age 16 and above that can be tailored to meet the needs of each individual patient.
What to expect
- AviClear treatment consists an initial consult, of three 30-minute sessions, and 2 follow up appointments with Dr McVerry
- During the course, some patients may experience a ‘purge’ where acne may worsen temporarily as impurities are expelled. This phase is critical for achieving clearer skin and is a normal part of the recovery process
- Patients start seeing results in the months following their last treatment session
- Our team will best advise on skincare to use throughout and following the course
Discomfort Level:
Patients have described the sensation as a snapping followed by a cooling sensation with each pulse. Unlike others, the laser is cold and discomfort throughout is described as moderate. No pain relief is needed for this treatment.
Recommended treatment plan
Patients must complete a course of three treatments to obtain results, each spaced one month apart. On the follow up review appointments, we work with our patients to help them achieve any personal goals following AviClear such as treating any residual scaring or redness.
