PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is an advanced treatment technology that utilizes the growth factors present in your own blood in order to regenerate your skin. Platelet Rich Plasma is a natural occurring component of your own blood. PRP encourages skin rejuvenation by stimulating the growth of your own collagen and improving blood supply to the tissue, leading to healthier, younger looking skin. This treatment helps both the tone and texture of skin, while easing the appearance of photo damaged and aging skin.

What Concerns Does It Treat

PRP helps refresh overall skin quality by improving texture and tone and boosting radiance. It can soften fine lines and wrinkles, revive dull or tired-looking skin, and support scar and stretch-mark remodelling. By stimulating collagen and elastin, it improves firmness and helps reduce skin laxity.

What To Expect

  • Consultation to discuss your concerns and goals
  • A small sample of your own blood is taken (similar to a standard blood test)
  • The sample is processed in a specialised centrifuge to extract the platelets from the blood
  • The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is prepared for use
  • PRP is injected directly into the treatment area, targeting the dermal layer of your skin

Discomfort Level

A standard blood draw is required. Most clients feel a quick pinch or mild sting, similar to a routine blood test.

Recommended Treatment Plan

This is patient dependant. A typical PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatment plan often involves a series of injections, typically 2-4 treatments, spaced several weeks apart, with the exact number depending on the individual’s concern and their response to the treatment.
