Profhilo®

Profhilo® Treatment

Profhilo® is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity.

It is a revolutionary, award-winning skin laxity treatment that remodels and boosts the skin on the face, neck, or decollete.

With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml), it not only boosts and hydrates the skin but also remodels the aging and sagging tissue.

Profhilo is not a dermal filler, but a new technology completely. Profhilo is injected across 10 points on the face, neck, or decollete and spreads underneath the skin to improve skin tone, texture, hydration, and radiance.

It also increases firmness and elasticity for healthier, rejuvenated skin.

Profhilo delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetics treatments currently on offer in our clinic.

How Does Profhilo Work?

To understand how Profhilo works, you first need to understand what hyaluronic acid is and why it’s important to the look and feel of your skin. It’s a naturally occurring substance found in our skin, joints, and connective tissue. The role of hyaluronic acid is to help bind moisture in the skin and also help in the production of collagen and elastin.

As people get older, their bodies produce less and less hyaluronic acid, which is what causes your skin to age. The lack of hyaluronic acid production leads to a lack of skin hydration and skin laxity, which in turn leads to the formation of wrinkles in your skin.

Profhilo is a treatment that contains a very high concentration of hyaluronic acid, the most of any other available skin treatment. However, Profhilo is not a traditional skin filler. Since the development process doesn’t chemically bond, rather, thermally, it acts as more of a super-hydrater than a filler.

Profhilo has the consistency of a gel-like substance, which enables it to be distributed very smoothly and evenly throughout the skin, unlike traditional fillers that have a tendency to form lumps in the skin. Because of this, Profhilo can be used on areas of the body that fillers can’t treat, such as the decollete, neck, and even forehead.

What Profhilo does is stimulate the reproduction of new collagen and elastin through the release of hyaluronic acid. This is essentially what makes Profhilo different, and in the eyes of many, superior, to other skin treatments. The purpose of Profhilo is not to cover up or hide skin imperfections. Profhilo can actually remedy these imperfections by stimulating the natural production of collagen and elastin. Profhilo is all about skin tone texture hydration and improving skin laxity.

What Does a Profhilo Treatment Look Like?

Another great thing about Profhilo is that it is a very quick treatment, which should only take about 15 minutes. Profhilo is injected under the skin with a needle into 10 locations on the body that have been strategically predetermined to produce even results.

The treatment is almost completely painless and most people who undergo a Profhilo treatment will not even need to use a topical numbing cream beforehand. Most experts recommend that you receive two Profhilo treatments, about a month apart in order to achieve the best possible results.

Maintenance treatments are also recommended sometimes after a period of six months in order to prolong the effect of Profhilo, but these types of recommendations are usually made on an individual basis.

People also love Profhilo because you can see the results of the skin treatment right away. As soon as you’re done with the treatment, your skin will be noticeably smoother and brighter. Not only that, but these effects are expected to improve as time passes and should last for at least half a year.

What Are the Profhilo Injection Points?

As mentioned previously, 10 total injections are administered in the process of administering Profhilo. Strategically, five injection points are on one side of the face and five are on the other. Using this technique, the treatment is able to focus on the areas of the skin that are most damaged and weathered.

These are the five locations of the Profhilo injection points:

  • Zygomatic Protrusion (the cheekbone)
  • Nasal Base (in line with the nostril)
  • Tragus (in line with the ear lobe)
  • Mandibular Angle (jawline)
  • The Chin

Despite the fact that there are 10 injections being used in a Profhilo treatment, clinical tests have shown that the treatment is one of the safest, anatomically speaking, as it makes sure to avoid all nerves and large vessels located in these areas of the face.

Who Is This Treatment For?

Most of the people who are interested in Profhilo treatments tend to be over the age of 30. Of course, both men and women can undergo this skin treatment if they want to improve sagging skin and get rid of wrinkles while hydrating their skin and making it look more youthful.

If you are an adult that is feeling self-conscious about your skin starting to age prematurely, you could be a good candidate to seek out the Profhilo skin treatment. It’s also important to note that there is no upper age limit for receiving Profhilo treatments. However, it should also be noted that the treatment is usually less effective for people over the age of 60 who suffer from more severe aging. The skin of elderly people has deeper folds that need to be penetrated, which is why for the best results, they might have to combine Profhilo with other types of skin treatments.

It should also be noted that Profhilo treatments can in no way mimic the drastic lifts and re-modelling treatments that surgical procedures and dermal fillers are used to create.

What Type of Results Can You Expect?

As is the case with any type of skin treatment that is administered, it’s very hard to predict the exact results of a Profhilo treatment because so much of how effective the treatment will be depends on the individual’s skin type and the way in which every individual’s body reacts to the treatment.

No matter what, you should be able to see immediate results in terms of how clear and smooth your skin will appear. You should be able to immediately notice a more youthful complexion with less visible wrinkles and creases. After Profhilo injections, your skin also usually looks shinier and healthier right away.

Is Profhilo a Dermal Filler?

It should be stressed that Profhilo is not a dermal filler. People most commonly use dermal fillers to give their faces volume, to plump up their facial features. The way that Profhilo affects the skin is much less dramatic and is more natural-looking. The purpose of Profhilo is to rejuvenate the skin in a natural way by promoting the production of collagen and elastin.

Are Profhilo Treatments Safe?

When it comes to facial treatments, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a treatment that is safer than Profhilo. It is easily one of the safest treatments available because of the reasons that we have already mentioned numerous times.

Profhilo is incredibly biocompatible since it is made from an acid that is already naturally produced by the body. Unlike some skin treatments that use chemical agents, Profhilo is a much more natural and safer option. Since Profhilo treatments are designed to inject almost nothing but a high concentration of hyaluronic acid into your skin, there are hardly any risks involved in this procedure.
