"I chose the Pillar Procedure because it seemed a lot less invasive. It was a one-time procedure that was done in the surgeons clinic. I was there for five, ten minutes, perhaps. And then back to work again. Quick, easy. I'm sleeping better at night. I'm getting better rest than I've had in years."

Palate surgery procedure (Pillar procedure) cures snoring & sleep apnea

What causes snoring? And how do you stop snoring?

Snoring is caused by the vibration of tissue in the upper airways of the head (the soft palate, nose and the back of your throat). It is typically the soft palate, which is the primary cause of snoring

One in four people suffer from chronic snoring and can be unaware of the problem themselves. Aside from interrupted sleep suffered by the snorer, It is a snorer's partner can also end up suffering sleep loss. Because sleep is interrupted so frequently, it isn't deep and restful. As a result, sufferer's can be irritable and even unsafe at the wheel while driving. Sleep deprivation can also affect the immune system and contribute to low energy, decreased productivity and confused thinking. Chronic snoring can also be a sign of a other serious health problems such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Aside from the physical effects of snoring it can also contribute to tensions in personal relationships where a partner's sleep is also affected.

If you suffer from snoring and it is affecting the quality of your life and relationship you can ask your doctor about the pillar procedure and whether it might be right for you. The pillar procedure is especially effective where the soft palate is the primary cause of your snoring.

Pillar Procedure (anti-Snoring treatment)
The pillar procedure is suggested for use in (1) the easing of symptomatic, habitual snoring caused by vibration of soft tissue of the palate, and for use with (2) upper airway obstructions in patients with mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea or "OSA". The pillar procedure makes use of a minimally invasive implant that stiffens the soft palate reducing vibration that results in snoring and/or tissue obstruction of the upper airway.

The soft tissue of the palate is often found to be the number one cause of chronic snoring, however other issues can contribute to the situation including blockage of the nasal airway, tonsils and adenoids. Your doctor will be able to examine your upper airway and assess if your soft palate is the major contributor of your snoring. If your soft palate is a major factor, the Pillar Procedure may prove to best option for you, as it stiffens the soft palate tissue to reduce the fluttering vibration that can cause snoring.

The Pillar Procedure can be carried-out as a stand-alone surgical procedure or used in combination with other treatments and life-style alterations to o assist patients stop snoring. Over 30,000 people have been treated with the Pillar Procedure.
During the Pillar Procedure, three very small implants are inserted into the soft palate. Over time the implants, in conjunction with natural fibrotic response, provide a stiffening structure that stiffens the soft palate. This stiffening effect aenuates tissue vibration that can cause vibration and tissue sag that can obstruct upper airways and causeing obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and chronic snoring.
The pillar implants are not visible nor can the patient feel them. No change in swallowing or speech occurs and generally patients can resume normal activities within a few hours of he procedure.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

"My experience of the Beacon Face & Dermatology was fantastic.
I rang around a couple of different clinics enquiring about botox, and I found BF&D the best in relation to the information and they were very helpful, professional and put my mind at ease. Mr Golchin who did the procedure was brilliant, very calming and professional, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Beacon Ace & Dermatology to all my friends. "
